Rumor is a contagious social disease that is created by some unscrupulous evil circles targeting individuals, families, groups, societies and the state to implement a specific agenda.
A person who becomes a victim of rumors loses social status and falls into despair. As a result, sometimes people commit suicide out of disgust with life.
Similarly, due to rumors, institutions lose their reputation, states lose their international standing, and groups of evildoers benefit.
Therefore, the National Rumor Protection Committee (NRPC) was formed out of social and state commitment for the overall welfare of the country and the nation.
NRPC identifies rumors spread targeting various individuals, groups and the state and informs people about the real facts.
We, a group of well-educated volunteers, are working at the district and upazila levels to identify rumors and increase social awareness nationwide.
